CSSC Released China Stainless Crude Steel Production for the First Quarter of 2012
The stainless steel production for first quarter of 2012 is 3.43 million metric tons (mmt), increased by 11.59% (357 thousand tons) compared to the same period of 2011.

The market share of stainless grade categories has changed a lot, the share of CrNi steels (300 series) decreased by 6.38%, while the share of Cr-Mn steels (200 series) increased by 6.36%. The share of Cr steels(400 series) kept the same time with the same time of 2011.

In the first quarter of 2012, China imported 198.2 thousand metric tons (‘000 tons) stainless steel, decreased by 12.4% compared to the same period of 2011. The exported stainless steel is 451 thousand metric tons (‘000tons), decreased by 1.9%.
The apparent consumption for the first quarter is 2.77 million metric tons (mmt), increased by 12.06% .
